Degree Day Information for Iowa |
Base-50 degree days. (Accumulated degree days shown; departure from average shown in parentheses.) May 1, 2004 through May 31, 2004. |
A (somewhat) normal MayCrop planting progress went well in Iowa, but the month provided a rocky last half for nearly everyone in the state. Heavy deluges in broad bands the weekend of May 22-24 caused low areas that still require replanting. The good part of that is that we are early enough to allow for crop replant decisions. Updated July 22, 2004.
