Rain needed in August

It was about a year ago now that I wrote here that crop conditions across Iowa were generally good to excellent. I went on to say that all we needed then was some favorable weather in August, and things looked good for harvest. It seems we are there again. With any luck (spell luck r-a-i-n) we should be on tap for respectable yields.

On another note, our western bean cutworm (WBC) trapping has accomplished two things:

  1. WBC is now documented in all areas of Iowa, and
  2. it is now time to scout for WBC, if you haven't already.
