Plant Disease Clinic Update - June 13, 2007

Samples with the following problems have been seen in the Clinic lately:

Angular leaf spot on zucchini
Apple scab on crabapple (see this week's article)
Environmental stress on maple and spruce (many samples)
Environmental tattering on oak and maple

Hickory petiole gall

Iron chlorosis on pin oak

Leafminers on dogwood

Leaf spot on turfgrass

Maple bladder gall

Pear leaf blister mite

Phomopsis tip blight on cedar

Environmental stress on spruce, causing browning of the newest growth.  Similar symptoms have been reported from throughout the state, often concentrated on the south and west sides of the tree.
