Plant and Insect Diagnostic Clinic Update - June 27, 2007
Samples with the following problems have been seen in the Clinic recently:
- Anthracnose on maple
- Botryosphaeria tip blight on oak
- Dutch elm disease
- Fire blight on pear
- Iron chlorosis on oak
- Leaf spot and melting out of turfgrass
- Maple bladder gall
- Rhizosphaera needle cast on spruce
- Raspberry leaf spot
- Slime mold on lawn
- Spruce spider mites on arborvitae
- Sulfur shelf fungi (see this week's article)
Insects identified this week in the Clinic include:
- Carpenter ants in trees
- Sand chafer, aka False Japanese Beetle
- Leafcurl Ash Aphid
