Starting Vegetable Plants

This article was published originally on 2/14/2014

Warm-season vegetables like tomatoes, peppers and eggplant are planted in the garden as small plants (transplants). You can begin vegetable transplants indoors to shorten the time by several weeks between planting and harvest.  See the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Yard and Garden news release from February 6, 2014 for more information on the starting vegetable transplants from seeds indoors.
