When can petunias be planted outdoors?

Question:

When can petunias be planted outdoors?

Answer:

Petunias should be planted in the garden after the danger of frost is past.  It’s usually safe to begin planting petunias in late April in southern Iowa and mid-May in northern parts of the state.
