Herbicide impact on replant options
|
Many growers are facing replant situations due to recent flooding or hail damage. An important consideration is the limitation for replanting options due to previously applied herbicides. Before making any decision, be sure to check the labels of all products that have been applied to determine whether there are any restrictions. The product with the greatest limitation is atrazine. Soybeans should not be planted in fields already treated with atrazine this year, regardless of rate or time of application. A table that lists replant options after herbicide application is on pp. 28-29 of the ISU Extension publication, 1996 Herbicide Manual for Agricultural Professionals, WC-92.
