Midday on WOI-AM Radio listeners in Iowa tuning to WOI-AM (640 KHz) at 12:30 p.m. on Monday can hear Iowa State University researchers and specialists discuss timely integrated pest management topics. Doug Cooper, ISU Market News Director, and I host University and other specialists who share information about crop pests and related agricultural concerns.

During the growing season, the program focuses on current and developing crop problems. In the winter, the program profiles crop-related research and occasionally people who are in the news or behind the scenes in Iowa agriculture.

A selection of recent programs is available on the Internet at http://www.exnet.iastate.edu/Pages/markets/ in RealAudio format. Recent topics have included a visit with Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Patty Judge; discussions with ISU economists Bob Jolley, Mike Duffy, Neil Harl, and others about how to deal with farm economic woes; and weed management planning in the winter with ISU weed management specialist Bob Hartzler.
