Crop tour for ag professionals
|
A crop tour for ag professionals is scheduled for Friday June 18th from 9:30 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the Northeast Research Farm near Nashua. Extension crops specialists and Ken Pecinovsky, farm superintendent, will host the tour. Topics for discussion will include observations and experiences related to crop growth and development, soil fertility, and pest management problems as they develop across the area. The tour also will review various research projects underway on the farm and discuss some of the new technologies that are or soon will be available, including changes in the ISU soil test interpretation and experimental and newly labeled herbicides to name a few. CCA continuing education credits have been requested. The Northeast Research Farm is located 1 mile south and 1.5 miles west of Nashua. The program is free and preregistration is not required. Questions about the program should be directed to your local county extension office or to George Cummins (515-228-1453). Please extend this invitation to others who would find this tour of interest.
