Two tours for ag professionals are scheduled for June 15 and July 20 from 9:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Northeast Research Farm near Nashua. ISU Extension crops specialists and Ken Pecinovsky, farm superintendent, will host the tours. Topics for discussion will include observations and experiences related to crop growth and development, soil fertility, and pest management problems as they develop across the area; a review of the various research projects underway on the farm; and a discussion of some of the new technologies that are or soon will be available. CCA continuing education credits have been requested.
The Northeast Research Farm is located 1 mile south and 1.5 miles west of Nashua. The program is free and preregistration is not required. Questions about the program should be directed to your county extension office or call me at 515-228-1453. Please extend this invitation to others who would find this tour of interest.
