A pilot project involving implementation of integrated pest management principles in an outdoor setting was conducted during 2004 and 2005. The project was conducted by Iowa State University Extension personnel and funded by a grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Pesticide Environmental Stewardship Program through the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship.
One goal of this project was to assist in implementation of IPM on school landscapes by developing electronic maps (complete with ornamental plant identification) and providing pest guide lists for diseases and insects.
Work products generated in this project are listed below. Computer assisted drawings of school landscapes used Autodesk DWF, but are provided in PDF. Each participating school also received a copy of IPM for Midwest Landscapes by Vera Krischik and John Davidson.
