The Crop Disease Clinic will be offered on August 16, 2017 at the Field Extension Education Laboratory (FEEL) outside of Ames. Registration check-in will start at 8:30 a.m. The program will begin with opening comments at 8:55 a.m. and will conclude at 4:30 p.m.
The Crop Disease Clinic will include the following presentations: disease identification and diagnostics, research updates, and corn and soybean disease discussion with walk-through plot tours. The goal of the clinic is to: improve knowledge of corn and soybean disease identification and biology, understand principles of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and research-based recommendations for Iowa corn and soybean production, and provide hands-on experiences in the classroom and out in the field when identifying common corn and soybean diseases.
This workshop is open to anyone (18 years of age and older) that wants to learn more about corn and soybean disease management, particularly crop consultants, agronomists, or farmers.
This qualifies for 6.0 pest management credits for Certified Crop Advisers, subject to board approval.
