Carol Pilcher

Carol Pilcher has spent the majority of her career working on integrated pest management and agricultural regulatory policy. She earned her master’s in entomology in 1997 and Ph.D. in entomology and agricultural education in 2001; both from Iowa State.  Carol's dissertation was “Integrated Pest Management: An Evaluation of Adoption in Field Crop Production”.

As a program specialist in the Integrated Pest Management program, Carol will be focusing on expansion of the Crop Protection Network.  She first used the Crop Protection Network as a resource when she was teaching courses for the Master’s of Agronomy program at Iowa State (2019-2021).  This was a valuable tool for her students. In just a few years, it has expanded to become one of the best sources of information for IPM.  Carol is excited to be a part of this multi-state program that “enhances the visibility and success of agriculture extension while providing important crop protection information”.
