The Story County Farm Resistance Network formed in 2019 in response to weeds that are becoming more difficult to control. The group shares common goals: to preserve the effectiveness of management tools and to encourage others to help. So far, the team members include farmers, COOP advisers, ag retailer reps and ISU Extension. A video has been created to introduce the team (below).
The group is also working on a scorecard that can help you track the threat of resistance on your fields. It's meant to help you organize details about your fields, the practices you use and the issues you encounter to help you make informed decisions for the future. You may even want to bring it along when you meet with your local adviser or agronomist.

Story County Farm Resistance Network has created and released two new videos from the 2020 field trials. The Story County Farm Resistance Network has released these videos in order to help farmers reduce the spread and development of herbicide resistance in their fields. They showcase the use of essential weed management programs, including timely applications of herbicide mixtures containing multiple, effective mechanisms of action in addition to cultural and mechanical techniques where feasible.
